Nokia and Fido(R) today announced the Canadian availability of the Nokia 6126 mobile phone, a slim handset that is both powerful and stylish. Weighing in at less than 90 grams, the new handset, available from Fido(R), is fully loaded with the latest technology - all of which can be accessed with the simple push of a one-touch button that opens the black cover.

"Not only does the Nokia 6126 handset allow you to answer your handset without having to put down your latte, it's also got larger keypad numbers, which make it easier to dial and send instant or text messages," said Karim Salabi, Vice-President of Marketing for Fido(R). "One press, and the phone opens easily. All this style and innovation will appeal to the Fido(R) user, who is often a busy urbanite and wants a chic device at an affordable price."

Starting with a graceful tapered design that is 13 mm thin at its base, the Nokia 6126 phone delivers a wide range of the most desired mobile phone features. A 16 million "true colour" main display, 1.3 megapixel camera with full screen viewfinder, and Bluetooth(R) technology, make capturing and sharing memories of drinks on the patio or on the deck as simple as 1-2-3. First, take pictures with friends and family, or while on vacation at the seaside in Portofino, and store them in the phone's memory. Second, share the pictures with others by viewing them on the phone's main display - after all, it displays up to 16 million colours - or send them via Fido's EDGE network. Finally, when it's time to print the pictures and add them to a photo album or scrapbook, there are no wires required. Simply send the pictures via Bluetooth technology directly to an enabled printer or computer.

"The Nokia 6126 device has a premium look, feel, and mix of applications at an extremely attractive price," said Paul Chapple, General Manager, Nokia Canada. "The innovative one-touch button mechanism will grab people's attention. The sleek wedge styling, excellent features, and affordability are what will make Fido(R) customers want to pick it up, while the soft-touch cover and ease of use will make it hard to put down."

The Nokia 6126 handset also boasts a host of multimedia applications to keep hipsters entertained while about town, including a digital music player supporting MP3 files, a wireless Internet browser with e-mail support, and a slot for a MicroSD card that can hold up to 1 GB of your favourite pictures of that divine new couch, or songs from the indie artist you heard last week. The handset also features quad-band GSM coverage across five continents, allowing those with wanderlust to stay connected virtually anywhere in the world.

The Nokia 6126 wireless handset is available at Fido(R) outlets, retail partners and on-line for $100 with a three-year Fido(R) Agreement. For more information about the Nokia 6126 handset and accessories, visit www.nokia.ca and www.fido.ca.
