SkyBridge Capital, LLC, which provides strategic capital to talented managers who are developing new hedge funds, and Brompton Cross Capital Advisers LLC, a long/short global equity hedge fund with a focus on the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) sectors, jointly announced that SkyBridge Capital will invest in Brompton Cross from its SkyBridge Capital Partners, L.P. and SkyBridge Capital (Cayman) Ltd. funds.
In addition to providing Brompton Cross' investment team with stable, long-term capital, SkyBridge Capital's professionals will seek to enhance its investment in Brompton Cross by providing business-building support as well as investment guidance and advice.
Brompton Cross' team of proven investment professionals, led by CEO & Portfolio Manager Storm Boswick, has helped manage more than $10 billion of TMT assets at world-class asset management firms, including J&W Seligman & Co., Jennison Associates, LLC and Sigma Capital, a subsidiary of SAC Capital. * Storm Boswick -- CEO & Portfolio Manager. Mr. Boswick was a long/short
equity hedge fund portfolio manager with Sigma Capital, a subsidiary of
SAC Capital, where he oversaw the global media sector team from 2003
through 2005. Previously, he was a partner of J&W Seligman & Co., head
of the east coast technology investment team and founder and co-head of
its venture capital group. During his tenure at J&W Seligman, from 1996
through 2002, Mr. Boswick held various positions, including assistant
portfolio manager of the Communications and Information Fund (a top-
ranked technology mutual fund), assistant portfolio manager of the
Global Technology Fund (a top-ranked international technology mutual
fund) and co-portfolio manager of the New Technology and New Technology
II Funds (a top-ranked technology cross-over fund, which included public
and venture capital investments). From 1994 through 1996, Mr. Boswick
was a financial analyst in the investment research department of
Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he covered publishing, electronic media and
Internet for the top-ranked media and technology research team. Prior
to Goldman, he was a founder and CFO of Macsimmum S.A.R.L., an
importer/reseller of computers and related equipment.
* Eric Philo -- Analyst. Mr. Philo was most recently a managing director
and senior analyst at Shopkorn Management, LLC, where he covered global
telecom services and equipment from 2003 to 2005. From 1996 to 2001,
Mr. Philo was an executive vice president at Jennison Associates, LLC,
where he covered up to 25% of the firm's $45 billion growth equities
portfolio, including telecom, Internet, media, information technology
services and industrials. Mr. Philo spent the majority of his career at
Goldman, Sachs & Co., from 1983 to 1996, and was a vice president and
senior newspaper, publishing and electronic media analyst prior to his
departure. While at Goldman, he was voted the "Best Stock Picker" in
the publishing sector by The Wall Street Journal two years running. He
was also named to Institutional Investor magazine's All-Star Team for
eight years. Prior to Goldman, Mr. Philo was a systems analyst &
programmer at IBM Corporation from 1979 to 1981.
* Rob Chira -- Analyst. Mr. Chira has been covering the computer hardware
and storage industries as a senior sell-side analyst since 1997. He has
consistently been ranked by Institutional Investor magazine and in the
Wall Street Journal's "Best on the Street" survey. Mr. Chira has also
been a contributing speaker at such industry events as IDEMA's Diskcon
conference. Most recently, Mr. Chira was a senior hardware and storage
analyst at Fulcrum Global Partners from 2002 through 2005. Prior to
Fulcrum, from 1997 through 2001, Mr. Chira was a senior hardware analyst
at ABN Amro. Mr. Chira also held research positions at Fuhrman Selz and
ING Barings where he covered the hardware sector.
* James Nguyen -- Analyst. Mr. Nguyen was from 2003 to 2005 an analyst for
a long/short equity hedge fund within Sigma Capital, a subsidiary of SAC
Capital. At Sigma, Mr. Nguyen covered the technology and media sectors,
with a focus on application and infrastructure software, security, video
game publishing, studios and small-cap media stocks. From 2000 to 2003,
Mr. Nguyen was an investment associate for a media and technology cross-
over fund at J&W Seligman. He was responsible for sourcing, analyzing
and making investment decisions in venture capital and public equity
investments. Prior to J&W Seligman, from August 1998 to August 2000,
Mr. Nguyen was an investment banker in the technology group at Morgan
Stanley, where he advised on mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings
and debt transactions for numerous technology companies.
* Jon Slavin -- Head Trader & Risk Manager. From 2004 to 2005, Mr. Slavin
was a senior equity desk trader at George Weiss Associates, where he
executed U.S. and international equity/derivative trades for multi-
strategy long/short portfolios. Previously, he was an equity desk
trader at Sigma Capital, a subsidiary of SAC Capital, where he co-
managed daily operations and oversaw junior personnel on the trading
desk. Prior to Sigma/SAC, Mr. Slavin was an equity desk trader and
analyst at Kadem Capital Management, from 2000 to 2002. He began his
career as a futures trader on the institutional sales and trading desk
at REFCO, Inc.
* Edward Harrison -- COO, CFO & CCO. Mr. Harrison was most recently a
managing director at Mercantile Capital Partners, from 1997 to 2005,
where he managed the firm's day-to-day functions, including investing
and monitoring the portfolio of investments as a board member and/or
advisor. He previously was a vice president in the principal investment
group at Alpha Investment Management. From 1994 to 1996, he was a vice
president in the retail and consumer products group at McKinsey &
Company. He also held positions as a project manager and divisional
managing director at Sears PLC from 1990 through 1992. Mr. Harrison
began his career as a financial analyst in the mergers and acquisitions
and principal investments groups at Oppenheimer & Company from 1989
through 1990.
