On Jan. 4, 2007, Silicon Image acquired sci-worx GmbH ("sci-worx"), a

leading intellectual property (IP) and design service provider

specializing in multimedia, communications, and networking

applications. The acquisition of sci-worx is expected to enhance and

accelerate the expansion of Silicon Image's system-on-a-chip (SoC)

design capabilities for the storage, distribution and presentation of

high-definition content in the consumer environment. At CES 2007,

Silicon Image will be demonstrating the products and services developed

by sci-worx.

-- Introduction of a new family of PinnaClear DTV input processors, the

first with High-Definition Multimedia Interface(TM) (HDMI) version 1.3

inputs for digital TVs. The SiI9153 is a highly integrated input

processor combining HDMI and legacy analog inputs with a single digital

video output optimized for midrange HDTVs. The SiI9155 integrates more

HDMI and analog inputs with even higher performance for high-end HDTVs.

This family enables manufacturers to cost effectively offer cutting

edge HDMI 1.3 support throughout their product line.

-- New additions to the Silicon Image VastLane(TM) product family, the

world's broadest line of HDMIintegrated circuits. Silicon Image

announced two new HDMI 1.3-compliant receiver chips designed for HDTVs

and audio/video (A/V) receivers to deliver the ultimate home theater

experience. The VastLane SiI9135, designed for use in audio/video

receivers, is the first HDMI 1.3 receiver chip to support High Bit Rate

(HBR) audio, enabling A/V receivers to decode and play back compressed

lossless audio formats such as Dolby(R) True HD and DTS-HD Master

Audio. The VastLane SiI9125, designed for use in HDTVs, is an advanced

dual-input receiver that fits directly into HDTVs, offering

manufacturers a low cost, easily implemented upgrade to add HDMI 1.3

capabilities to their full range of HDTVs.

-- A new VastLane product family: Silicon Image announced its first-

generation HDMI 1.3 switch product family, with integrated HDMI

Consumer Electronics Control(CEC) functionality. The SiI9181 and

SiI9185 are Transition Minimized Differential Signaling (TMDS) HDMI

switches that enable multiple HDMI source devices to connect to HDTVs

with frequency of operation up to 225 megahertz (MHz), allowing

consumers to enjoy Deep Color(TM) content.

-- A new member of the second generation SteelVine(TM) storage processor

family, the SiI5733. The SiI5733 gives HDTV, digital video recorder

(DVR), set-top box and PC motherboard manufacturers a cost-effective

storage solution that is simple, scalable, reliable and secure. The

SiI5733 is the first storage processor on the market to offer content

security through automatic drive locking, making drive security simple

and requiring no effort by the user.

-- Simplay Labs(TM) LLC's opening of its first European HD test center in

London, providing manufacturers a state-of-the-art compatibility

testing facility to ensure they are delivering industry-compatible

high-definition products to consumers. Simplay Labs is also previewing

new testing tools and services to help manufacturers achieve

compatibility and deliver the highest-quality HDTV experience to

consumers.
