Reactivity®, Inc., the leader in secure XML infrastructure, today announced that throughout 2005 it saw dramatic adoption for its solutions in not only new accounts, but throughout the enterprises of major customers and their partners worldwide, including seven of the top 15 financial institutions, three of the top 10 automotive manufacturers and two of the top three loyalty awards programs.

According to Forrester Research, "More than 70 percent of large enterprises -- those with 20,000 or more employees -- are using SOA."(1) In addition, Forrester writes that: "Large enterprises are overwhelmingly adopting SOA: More than 70 percent of large enterprises report using SOA now. Beyond simply adopting SOA, 29 percent of large enterprises have an enterprise-level commitment to SOA, and 19 percent are using SOA for strategic business transformation."(2)

"As Web services initiatives move beyond first projects and expand with success, our customers are leveraging the Reactivity platform to replicate their rapid, secure deployments across and outside the enterprise to other vital business units," said Glenn Osaka, president and CEO of Reactivity. "In just a short time, Reactivity has become critical to customers by providing the XML security, acceleration and interoperability needed to realize rapid returns from XML Web services and use those services more broadly in their bold SOA initiatives."

Reactivity's patented XML processing and deep message inspection technologies provide customers with the highest-speed XML security gateway coupled with the most robust control over policy and integration. The result is that Reactivity's customers are rapidly successful with their initial SOA initiative and the ensuring momentum results in many more SOA initiatives that are secured, accelerated and realized with Reactivity's XML Gateways.

"Reactivity has cracked the code to rapid Web services success and expansion by placing key high cost, centrally controlled capabilities -- ranging from transformation, mediation, routing to schema validation, authentication and enforcement -- into the network infrastructure," said Jonathan Klein, founder and general partner at TopLine Strategy Group, a consulting firm that has researched the problems and buying patterns for Web services in enterprise environments.(3) "With these critical, common processes isolated from the application, Reactivity customers have been able to upgrade and expand infrastructure very quickly without touching any of the individual Web services applications. Our research directly with end users illustrates that this is one of the rare cases of 'future proof' technology in the industry."

Widespread Praise and Enterprise-Wide Success

In 2005, many key Reactivity customers went quickly from pilot to widespread enterprise deployment, often extending SOA and Web services to a diverse landscape of partners, suppliers and customers. For example:

-- Carlson Marketing operates consumer, employee and channel incentive

programs for some of the world's largest companies, supporting close to 75

custom applications for various clients at any given time. Carlson

Marketing Group leverages the Reactivity XML Security Gateway and

Reactivity Manager to rapidly create and maintain an application-oriented

network of secure connections for various clients' relationship marketing

programs.

-- Thomson Prometric, a part of Thomson Learning, created an SOA that

relies on Reactivity's Gateways across five separate pre-existing systems

that are integrated into one secure, real-time test reservation and payment

system. The system is available to the over 3,500 Thomson Prometric testing

centers as well as Thomson Prometric's corporate customers integrating to

their portals.

-- Aeroplan, a subsidiary of ACE Aviation Holdings, is Canada's premier

customer loyalty rewards program. With more than 60 partners, representing

more than 100 brands, and new partners joining regularly, Aeroplan turned

to Reactivity and their XML Security Gateway and the product's inherent

speed and scalability to make it possible for new partners to be added to

the partner network in an expedient and independent manner. Subsequently,

ACE Aviation Holdings has leveraged the Reactivity Gateways for additional

projects beyond the Aeroplan partner network.

In addition, InfoWorld recently named Aeroplan to its 2005 "InfoWorld 100"

annual ranking of the most innovative corporate IT solutions for its

real-time non-air reward redemption program powered by Reactivity's XML

security gateways for Web services and SOA.

Reactivity continues to receive widespread praise for its solutions. Just last month, Reactivity prevailed over Actional, DataPower (acquired by IBM), Forum Systems and Sarvega (acquired by Intel) in a comparative review published in Business Communications Review. Other awards include a SearchWebServices.com "Product of the Year" Award and Software Development's Jolt Productivity Award in the Security Tools category. Reactivity was also among the companies named into the elite corps of the Red Herring and AlwaysOn™ 100 Top Private Companies.
