INUS Technology has launched a new portal for users of rapidform 3D scanning software to access and use a variety of Add-in applications at no charge. This new addition to the rapidform.com website offers easy access to dozens of functionality enhancements for both rapidform and rapidformXO.
Rapidform and rapidformXO Add-ins are developed using the software's powerful API (Application Programming Interface). These Add-ins and macros extend and automate rapidform's powerful tools for 3D scan data processing, reverse engineering and quality inspection. Some of the Add-ins available on rapidform.com include:
•Direct hardware interfaces for popular 3D scanners
•CAD interoperability tools
•Application-specific functionality enhancements
•Automation of frequently used work processes
Users can easily identify which Add-ins are suitable for their industry or job function by navigating to the Add-in portal, which classifies Add-ins by product, functionality and application. In addition to Add-ins and macros, sample code and programming utilities are also available to users to aide in developing their own Add-in applications.
Hundreds of rapidform customers and partners rely on Add-ins for their daily work processes. France's Kallisto has created new functionality for body scanning with rapidform Add-ins. Arnaud Villenave of Kallisto remarked «With the rapidform API, we automated the whole process of digitizing to prototyping, including an auto-reconstruction routine and a modification system. This work was done for the orthopedic world but can be adapted in many other ways. We call these tools and methods ‘Bio-conception».
The Add-in portal is available at www.rapidform.com. All rapidform users can download available Add-in applications and install them to immediately enhance their rapidform installations at no cost.
