Greenwoods Communications has joined a number of leading UK product and services suppliers to the data centre market to form the Unite Technology Partnership. By providing an end-to-end service from consultancy to products, and services to financing, the alliance aims to minimise the risk to buyers when specifying and purchasing complex data centre systems.
Greenwoods Communications is a leading and well established provider to the telecommunications sector. With the Unite Technology Partnership behind it, Greenwoods Communications will focus on the wider datacoms market and will be one of the UK's few companies able to meet customers' demands for converged solutions.
«Although a leader in telecoms, we are less well known for datacoms, despite making significant inroads into the market in recent years,» says Peter Skinner, Commercial Director, Greenwoods Communications. «Having already installed telecoms and smaller datacoms systems for many of the major operators, we can now provide complete converged solutions for operators, SMEs and other large organisations'.»
The Unite Technology Partnership provides more than just the latest technology. It meets the needs of mission-critical computer equipment facilities by providing a service that recognises and addresses actual customer needs. The partnership can offer leading technologies from every area of need and integrate them to meet the needs of data centres.
The partnership is the brainchild of David Bates, Commercial Director for data centre specialist Comrac. «In simple terms, customers will get a low risk and practical solution with a faster time to market,» explains Bates. «From planning, to deploying the assets, to lifecycle management, we can assemble leading experts from the Unite program. These experts combine and co-ordinate to ensure and establish the overall customer need, this is then matched and delivered by the alliance and integration of the stated capability offerings.»
The partnership's slogan comes directly from a potential client's statement after he was briefed about the allegiance's capabilities, claims Bates: «He essentially said: ‘At last, a needs-based offering that reflects customer needs and the overall business challenge.'»
The range of products and services that the Unite Technology Partnership can provide includes:
