Las Vegas Gaming, Inc. has scored a major award win at the recent Global Gaming Expo. LVGI's new PortalVision(TM) product took the trade show floor by storm as the biggest innovation to hit gaming since dice, and now an independent panel has named PortalVision one of the Best Consumer Service Technologies for 2006 in the fourth annual Gaming & Technology Awards.
Competing among the most prestigious products from the largest gaming suppliers in the world, LVGI placed second for the Best Consumer Technology Award behind only International Game Technology (IGT), the world's largest slot manufacturer.
LVGI Chief Marketing Officer Stephen Crystal said, "This is tremendous validation of what we knew all along -- that PortalVision is going to change the way players play in casinos around the world. We are thrilled with this honor, especially to be ranked alongside a company as prestigious and far-reaching as IGT."
The awards were presented by Global Gaming Business magazine and Spectrum Gaming Group and recognize excellence in innovation and practical application in all gaming disciplines.
PortalVision enables casino, lottery and slot operators to dramatically increase productivity of their gaming machines by delivering additional real-time wagering opportunities, promotions, games, advertising and other content on existing video slot machines directly to players.
PortalVision unlocks the gaming screen and enables operators to send an unlimited variety of interactive offers directly to players. Customers access PortalVision's menu of options upon demand or by operator-defined prompts via the slot machine's touch-screen. Corporate operators can choose where and when to deliver content -- across corporate brands, to specific properties, machine banks or even to individual machines.
PortalVision is based on patented technology developed by LVGI Chief Technology Officer Sam Johnson, whose vision continues to serve as the strategic foundation for the technology and product lines.
