Jitterbit, an open source integration solution that minimizes the cost and complexity associated with connecting applications, data and partners, today announced major new additions to its Jitterbit Professional and Jitterbit Community business integration solutions. The new additions include the ability to publish Web Services, enabling users to securely expose their applications and legacy systems as Web services to the outside world. In addition, LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) support enables integration of enterprise systems with corporate directory services.
"Today's enterprises are using Web Services more and more to separate applications and systems into component services for reusable integrations," said Sharam Sasson, president and CEO of Jitterbit. "Our goal is to make it just as simple to publish Web Services as it is to consume them with Jitterbit."
With Jitterbit, users and developers can quickly and affordably connect and transform customer data from a variety of data sources and formats into an integrated solution.
When it comes to integration, customers have had limited options to date; until recently relying on expensive, complex and proprietary solutions that require specialized technical staffing. Jitterbit allows users to integrate their data immediately, without coding. Jitterbit also provides pre-packaged integrations, called "Jitterpaks," that include the basic configurations for integrating common data processes. Jitterpaks dramatically reduce complexity, cost and implementation time.
Additions to the Jitterbit integration solution announced today include:
-- Create a Web Service: With today's release, Jitterbit has removed the
complexity, and minimized the skill set and costs of exposing
applications and systems as a Web service to the outside world. A
simple example of this functionality is processing auction
notifications into an order management system.
-- LDAP Support: Using Jitterbit, users can now integrate enterprise
systems with corporate directory services. LDAP is used by companies
to ensure that employee information is consistent throughout their
organizations. Jitterbit has eliminated the need to acquire and deploy
costly proprietary software, making directory synchronization available
to everyone. One Jitterbit user, for example, made use of this new
functionality in synchronizing information between their PeopleSoft
system and Active Directory.
-- Encryption Capabilities: Jitterpaks can now be password encrypted to
protect pre-packaged integrations. This feature was created for system
integrators and software vendors to control access to their integration
domain expertise.
"These are exciting times for us," said Ilan Sehayek, CTO at Jitterbit. "As we continue to expand the feature set and applicability of Jitterbit with each release, we're seeing our community nearly double in terms of downloads, registered users, and feature requests."
