Ivrnet Inc. is pleased to announce it has acquired the customer operations and rights to leading-edge voice recognition technology from Calgary-based Voicelink Technologies, a leader in the development of speech enabled applications. Voicelink uses Voice Recognition to provide automated attendants, telephone surveys, information lines, and custom voice applications.
Ivrnet obtained the rights after its partner PBS Systems Inc purchased Voicelink. As part of the deal Ivrnet will provide expertise and staff to fulfill existing Voicelink contracts. Future contracts will be delivered directly by Ivrnet.
Ivrnet is also very pleased to announce that Voicelink's former president Eric Lowther will join the company as Vice President of Client Services. Prior to co-founding Voicelink Technologies, Mr. Lowther was a prominent Member of Parliament. Before that, he was an executive with Telus Mobility, where he was a major contributor in helping the company grow from hosting a handful of cellular users to being the major player in the Canadian cellular market.
"The deal between Ivrnet and Voicelink solidifies Ivrnet's standing as a leader in Voice Response and Voice Recognition technologies," said Lowther. "I'm thrilled to be a part of this team."
"Eric is an extraordinary addition to the Ivrnet team," said David Snell, Ivrnet's President. "Individuals such as Eric are a rare find. His knowledge and experience will help shape Ivrnet into a market leader over the next few years."
For five years, Voicelink had been a leader in providing Voice Recognition to major political, industrial and governmental clients. Ivrnet expects to capitalize immediately on the synergies between Voicelink's technology and its own.
