New York, NY (PRWEB) July 2, 2006 -- Jeremy G. Schneider, MFT, a therapist and fatherhood expert, was interviewed by CNN for an exclusive Father's Day story that focuses on how Mr. Schneider uses technology to better connect with and help parents – especially fathers – navigate the ups and downs of raising children.
The 11-minute interview, conducted by CNN Headline News anchor and technology reporter Renay San Miguel, has been posted on the CNN Digital Life Podcast website and can be heard at: http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/services/podcasting/digital.life/audio/2006/06/digital0615.mp3
«Working with CNN was a great opportunity to reach out to even more fathers across the country,» says Mr. Schneider, who publishes a monthly column and corresponding Podcast, A Father's Voice. «It is important that fathers understand there is information and resources available to help them be better fathers.»
Mr. Schneider explains the various ways he uses technology to communicate with families, including his web site, www.jgs.net, his «A Father's Voice» column/podcast, and his Digital Daddy Diary blog called Two Okapis (www.twookapis.net), which documents his daily experiences as a father of twins. Mr. Schneider also offers a free «Ask A Dad» service, which allows parents to ask questions and receive personalized answers via e-mail. Mr. Schneider has written dozens of articles on fatherhood and parenting, many of which have been published in a variety of magazines and related Internet sites.
Mr. Schneider also discusses the two primary issues he counsels parents on: The potential lack of immediate connection between father and baby, and what he calls the «Mommy Do It! Test,» which occurs when an infant becomes a toddler and only wants to be with a primary caretaker – which in most instances is their Mommy.
